    Showers and potential thunderstorms are expected before 2pm, followed by a chance of more between 2pm and 5pm. The sky will transition from cloudy to mostly sunny, reaching a high of 81°F with a west wind at 6-9 mph. There’s a 60% chance of precipitation with new rainfall amounts under a tenth of an inch, although higher amounts are possible in thunderstorms. Saturday night, there’s a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before 11pm, then a chance of showers after 2am as clouds increase, with a low around 67°F.     Temperatures are warming, school is nearly out for the year, and a full slate of free, outdoor summer entertainment is coming to Fairfax County parks.

    The Fairfax County Park Authority will kick off its annual Summer Entertainment Series tonight (Friday), with Grist Mill Park in Mount Vernon hosting the swing and jazz group Seth Kibel & The Kleztet at 7:30 p.m.

    Summer is heating up in Tysons with a variety of free programs throughout the season.

    A new “Latin Dance Experience” series will kick off at Boro Park (8350 Broad Street) this Sunday (June 8).


    A pizza chain with nearly 300 locations on the West Coast will set up shop in Fairfax County as part of its latest expansion efforts.

    Mountain Mike’s Pizza has signed an agreement to open three new restaurants across Fairfax and Loudoun counties, the company said.

    Pride Month has arrived. Though this year’s Reston Pride festival has come and gone, there are still plenty of events around Fairfax County for those looking to celebrate or do some good for their community.

    Pride-themed blood drive


    The team behind Fairfax City’s Bollywood Bistro is working on a new restaurant that they hope will transport diners in more ways than one.

    Upon entering Mumbai Central in Idylwood, customers will find themselves in a space resembling a train compartment, decked out with a destination board, a ticket counter and other paraphernalia that evoke the restaurant’s namesake train station.
