The U.S. Army’s 250th birthday parade isn’t the only procession taking to the streets in the D.C. region tomorrow (Saturday).

The Town of Vienna will host a parade of its own to kick off its fifth annual Liberty Amendments Month celebrations, which shine a light on the 13th, 14th, 15th and 19th amendments to the U.S. Constitution for bringing the country closer to its egalitarian ideals, at least on paper.

Belle Haven residents soon won’t have to travel far for a bowl of ramen.

Yido Ramen and Sushi expects to open its doors in the Belle View Shopping Center later this month, according to its Instagram account. The restaurant announced in late May that it’s looking to hire servers, dishwashers, a kitchen chef and other workers.


One of the world’s largest booksellers returns to Tysons Corner Center next week in a new, revamped location.

Barnes & Noble will officially open its doors next Wednesday (June 18), returning to the mall in a brand new space with an updated layout.

A new option for coffee and pastries is tentatively scheduled to open this year in Fairfax City.

Layered, which comes from the team behind the bakery Chateau de Chantilly, is targeting a soft opening in the former McDonald’s building at Courthouse Plaza in mid to late July 2025, according to Fairfax City Economic Development (FCED).


Foodies seeking tips for making their own sushi or cocktails will get an opportunity to learn from experts in those crafts next month, courtesy of Capital One Center’s inaugural Culinary Week.

The promotional campaign will bring together restaurants in the development around Capital One’s Tysons headquarters on July 14-18 for an assortment of activities, from the aforementioned sushi and cocktail-making classes to a Battle of the Chefs contest.


At the center of a new exhibit in the National Museum of the United States Army at Fort Belvoir is a wax replica of Revolutionary War soldier William Seymour.

Around Seymour are soldiers charging into battle, including formerly enslaved man Cato Varnum who won a Badge of Military Merit for his actions at Yorktown. Just behind Seymour are Anna and John Lane, a couple who fought together at Germantown.
