Alta Strada is bowing out of the Mosaic District about seven months shy of what would’ve been its 10th anniversary there.

The Italian restaurant and wine bar revealed on its social media pages yesterday (Monday) that its Merrifield location will be permanently closing its doors on Saturday, July 25.

Ornery Beer Company is downsizing, sacrificing its Fairfax City restaurant to focus on ensuring the future of its other locations.

The brewpub announced today (Monday) that its location at 3950 University Drive, Suite 106, will permanently close on Sunday, July 26 after nearly eight years of operating in Old Town Fairfax.

    When shoppers at Tysons Galleria ascend to the third floor for a bite to eat, they can choose between handmade pasta, burgers, street tacos, two different types of southeast Asian cuisine and two of Northern Virginia’s hottest chains.

    ArtsFairfax is planning a series of exhibitions to showcase local artists around Fairfax County.

    The “ArtsFairfax Presents” initiative was developed after a survey commissioned by the local arts agency last year revealed that, for many artists working in Fairfax County, finding affordable and appropriate spaces to showcase their work can be a challenge.


    Noodles & Company has closed its Herndon-area restaurant, one of more than two dozen locations expected to shutter this year.

    The fast-casual chain’s closure yesterday (Wednesday) at 2405 Centerville Road in the Village Center at Dulles leaves just a handful of open locations in Fairfax County. Some of the other locations closed in recent years include Chantilly, Vienna, and Hybla Valley.
