Expect showers and potential thunderstorms after 2pm, with mostly sunny skies and highs near 90°F. East wind will be at 6-9 mph, and a 60% chance of precipitation with rainfall amounts less than a tenth of an inch. For Thursday night, showers and possible thunderstorms continue until 2am, transitioning into scattered showers and thunderstorms between 2am and 5am, followed by scattered showers. Expect cloudy skies, lows around 69°F, an east wind at 8 mph, and a 60% chance of precipitation with rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch. See more from Weather.gov.

Construction underway on future Reston Whole Foods, replacing Best Buy

After four years, Reston Town Center’s old Best Buy will soon no longer be vacant.

Whole Foods is moving into the 43,266-square-foot space at 1861 Fountain Drive in the Spectrum at Reston Town Center, according to Fairfax County permit records.

The Counter leaves Reston Town Center after 15 years

The clock has run out on The Counter’s stay in Reston.

The custom burger eatery closed for good at the end of July after 15 years in Reston Town Center. Workers dismantled The Counter’s illuminated sign above the door at 11922 Democracy Drive Saturday (Aug. 24) evening — around the same time that Ice Cream Jubilee was wrapping up its grand opening.

Honeygrow, the stir-fry food chain, opens its doors in Fair Lakes

Honeygrow is creating a stir in Fair Lakes.

The fast-casual restaurant chain officially opened at 13044 Fair Lakes Shopping Center on Saturday (Aug. 24), serving up stir-fry bowls, salads and honey-drizzled desserts from its signature honeybar.

Lake Anne jazz festival returns to raise funds for music education

The Mykle Lyons Commemorative Concert and Jazz Festival will return to Lake Anne Plaza in Reston this Saturday (Aug. 31).

For its fourth year, the annual celebration of Lyons, a jazz musician and longtime Reston resident who died in 2021, will seek to continue his legacy by raising funds to create a music education initiative for Reston Association.

Indian restaurant Spice 6 closes, Vietnamese eatery in the works near Dunn Loring Metro

One of the Shops at Avenir Place’s earliest tenants has left.

Spice 6, a fast-casual Indian restaurant, closed its doors last Wednesday (Aug. 21) after serving customers near the Dunn Loring Metro station for nearly a decade.

J. Crew Factory store may be coming to Tysons strip mall

A discount clothing retailer appears to be coming soon to Tysons, right down the street from both Tysons Corner Center and Tysons Galleria.

Pike 7 Plaza will be home to a J. Crew Factory store, according to permit applications submitted to Fairfax County. It will be located at 8387 Leesburg Pike, between the strip mall’s Lidl and DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse stores.
