Expect sunshine and a high temperature of about 74 degrees, accompanied by a north wind blowing at 8 to 13 mph. As the day transitions into Friday night, the sky will remain clear, with the temperature dropping to a low of approximately 54 degrees. Reston Pride Festival returns to Lake Anne Plaza this weekend

Lake Anne Plaza is set to host the seventh annual Reston Pride Festival this Saturday (June 1) from noon to 6 p.m.

This year’s theme, “SHINE,” is expected to offer a day of vibrant activities and entertainment, such as a dunk tank, drag artists, and a micro arts and craft fair, according to a press release. Reston-based engineering firm Leidos is sponsoring the event.

Pickleball Club of Tysons is now open inside converted warehouse

A new option for pickleball has opened in Tysons, drawing players from across Northern Virginia.

The Pickleball Club of Tysons celebrated its launch at 8528 Tyco Road on Mother’s Day weekend (May 11-12) by allowing about 500 people to play on its six indoor courts for free. While no grand opening is expected, members enjoyed food and some friendly competition during a Memorial Day mixer this past Monday (May 27).

Vida Fitness launches new gym in Reston Row near Metro station

Vida Fitness in Reston is now open.

According to a spokesperson, the new 50,000-square-foot facility, which spans three levels of an office tower at 1845 Reston Row Plaza, held its soft opening this past Saturday (May 25).

Original ‘Hairspray’ actors to put on show at McLean’s Alden Theatre

Original Broadway cast members Marissa Jaret Winokur, Kerry Butler and Laura Bell Bundy will perform at the Alden Theatre in a show celebrating the anniversary of "Hairspray" (courtesy McLean Community Center)

Three Tony Award honorees are coming to the Alden Theatre (1234 Ingleside Avenue) in McLean next Saturday (June 8).

At the 7 p.m. event, three members of the original cast of the musical “Hairspray” will mark more than 20 years since the musical debuted on Broadway in the summer of 2002.

Showers and thunderstorms are likely, with a possible thunderstorm after 4pm and a high near 77. Expect a northwest wind around 7 mph and an 80% chance of precipitation. New rainfall amounts will be less than a tenth of an inch, with higher amounts in thunderstorms. Wednesday night will see scattered showers and thunderstorms mainly before 8pm, gradually becoming partly cloudy later on, and a low around 56. Taiwanese cafe Vivi Bubble Tea set for grand opening in Vienna

Vivi Bubble Tea is now serving up boba, popcorn chicken and other Taiwanese snacks in Vienna.

Franchise owner Yaya Zhang, who also owns Fairfax City’s Vivi Bubble Tea, opened her second location at 233 Maple Avenue East in the Glyndon Shopping Center on May 13. During its soft opening, the cafe is offering 10% off all drinks.
