Sweetgreen is officially cruising into Chesterbrook Shopping Center in McLean, and it’s bringing a beach-inspired Mexican restaurant from D.C. along for the ride.

The fast-casual health food chain anticipates opening at 6220 Old Dominion Drive this fall. The 2,571-square-foot restaurant will be joined in the free-standing, former Truist Bank building by Surfside, which is expanding into Virginia for the first time.

    At Pathway Homes, art is celebrated as an outlet for at-risk local residents facing mental health issues to express themselves. The results can be seen throughout July at the Fairfax County Government Center.

    The annual “Summer of the Arts” exhibit, now in its 12th year, features more than 40 pieces in media ranging from watercolors and pastels to poetry and 3D modeling. Works are typically sold for $15 to $75, with 100% of the proceeds going to the artists.

    A new dining option arrived at Fair Oaks Mall earlier this week.

    Ugly Dumpling, which announced plans to join the mall’s slate of eateries last year, celebrated its grand opening at 11947U Fair Oaks Mall, Suite G-213, on Monday (July 14).


    The new Sassanova in McLean’s Chesterbrook Shopping Center is a milestone in more ways than one.

    Officially opened today (Thursday), the fashion boutique at 6224G Old Dominion Drive represents the Maryland company’s first expansion into Virginia, and at 2,262 square feet, it’s the largest location yet.
