Sheeba, now open in Vienna, offers authentic introduction to Yemeni cuisine, owner says

When Nadir Naimi talks about his new restaurant Sheeba, the words “authenticity” and “customer experience” frequently crop up.

The first franchise of a growing, family-owned chain to open outside its home state of Michigan, the Yemeni eatery served dinner to its inaugural patrons in Vienna at 111 Church Street NW last Friday (Aug. 21).

Lidl grocery store might be coming to Plaza America in Reston

A new grocery store appears to have been secured for Reston’s Plaza America.

The German discount chain Lidl has “just signed” a lease for the former Whole Foods Market space at 11660 Plaza America Drive, according to a site plan recently updated by CBRE, the retail broker for the shopping center.

Hershey to close pop-up store and experience in Tysons next month

Hershey Super Sweet Adventure will soon kiss Tysons Corner Center goodbye.

The sweets-celebrating attraction — which consists of both a ticketed experience and a retail store — is slated to close on Labor Day (Monday, Sept. 7) after staying at the mall for more than four months.

Korean pot rice restaurant coming to former Tippy’s Taco in Centreville

A Korean pot rice restaurant is set to fill the space in Centreville’s Centrewood Plaza vacated this summer by longtime tenant Tippy’s Taco House.

Dam-Sot, a restaurant specializing in premium rice dishes, will open at 14119 St. Germain Drive near the Giant food store that anchors the shopping plaza.

D.C. Restaurant Week returns with almost 30 Fairfax County eateries participating

The Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington’s Summer Restaurant Week is back for 2026, and over two dozen establishments in Fairfax County are in the mix.

Starting today (Monday) through Sunday, Aug. 30, more than 380 restaurants in D.C., Maryland and Virginia are offering multi-course brunch, lunch and dinner menus that range in price from $25 to $65 per person, depending on the location.

Taco Bell seeks to open drive-thru near busy Centreville arterial roads

Good news for future Centreville-area commuters craving a crunchy quesarito or chalupa: Taco Bell appears to be planning a new drive-thru on a secondary road just off Routes 28 and 29.

Plans were submitted to Fairfax County by Centreville Investors LLC last week seeking a conditional rezoning and permission to build a new, 2,800-square-foot building, complete with drive-thru and a Taco Bell sign, at 5866 Old Centreville Road.
