    Scattered showers are expected before 11am, transitioning to a chance of showers and thunderstorms between 11am and 2pm, with showers likely and potential thunderstorms after 2pm. Patchy fog is expected before 4pm and after 5pm. Cloudy skies and a high near 74 are forecasted, with calm winds becoming east around 6 mph in the morning. There is a 70% chance of precipitation and potential for new rainfall amounts of a tenth to a quarter of an inch, with higher amounts in thunderstorms. For Saturday night, showers are likely, mainly before 2am, alongside patchy fog, a low around 63, and a northeast wind of 3 to 5 mph.     Starbucks closing Fair Lakes store as part of company’s North American cuts

    As of now, a Starbucks store in Fair Lakes is the brand’s lone Fairfax County location on the chopping block.

    The last day of business for the cafe, located at 12599 Fair Lakes Circle in East Market, will be tomorrow (Saturday), an employee confirmed to FFXnow.

    Fashion store Cole Haan opens at Tysons Corner Center

    A new spot for shoes, accessories and other apparel opened at Tysons Corner Center this week.

    The fashion brand Cole Haan officially opened its doors on the second floor of the mall yesterday (Thursday), bringing a variety of leather goods to its first location in Fairfax County.

    Fairfax arts community plans month-long celebration with events, discounts

    October will give local residents the chance to “fall into the arts” with artoberVA, a month-long celebration of the arts across Fairfax County.

    A collaboration between ArtsFairfax and CultureWorks, the initiative will present a number of free events coupled with discount offers from local artists and arts organizations across Fairfax County and the cities of Fairfax and Falls Church.

    Now-open Springfield dealership is Subaru’s largest in the D.C. region

    Springfield is now home to one of the largest car dealerships in the D.C. area.

    Sheehy Subaru, which celebrated its grand opening on Sept. 18 at 7501 Loisdale Road, sits at nearly 51,000 square feet, making it the largest Subaru dealership in the region, according to a company spokesperson.

    Pop-up sculpture garden debuts at River Farm in Fort Hunt

    A new sculpture garden will be on display at Fort Hunt’s River Farm until late October.

    The sculpture garden installation was initially showcased at a gala for the American Horticultural Society at River Farm on Sept. 30 and will remain on the site until Oct. 20, exhibit curator Nepenthe Gallery said in a release.
