Annual ‘Beer in the Garden’ event returns to Halley Rise in Reston

A now-annual event featuring craft beers and bouquet-making returns to Halley Rise in Reston this weekend.

The second annual “Beer in the Garden” will bring beer from Lost Rhino Brewing Company, barbecue, live music and floral bouquets to the development on Saturday (Sept. 14) from noon to 3 p.m.

King Arthur Baking to open pop-up shop next week in Fairfax Corner

One of baking’s biggest brands is bringing its pop-up shop to Fairfax Corner.

Spearheaded by King Arthur Baking Company, the store will open Monday (Sept. 16) as a one-stop shop for a wide range of baking needs. Many of the brand’s products — including 27 different flours and 86 baking mixes — will be available, along with other ingredients, tools and more.

Lebanese restaurant Seray opens doors in Vienna

A high-end option for kebabs and other Middle Eastern cuisine has arrived in Vienna.

Seray, a new Lebanese restaurant from the former owner of Me Jana in Arlington, opened to diners on Sunday (Sept. 8) at 160 Maple Avenue West in the Vienna Shopping Center, bringing life back to a space that had stood empty since Chopt closed in December 2022.

New fast-casual restaurant to serve ‘farm-fresh’ food in Chantilly

A Chantilly pizza and salad restaurant is planting the seeds for a transformation.

After six years in its current form, Farmtruck Pizza & Greens (14385 Newbrook Drive, Suite 500) announced this morning (Tuesday) that it will serve customers for the last time this Sunday (Sept. 15) before reopening early next year as Farmside Kitchen.

Watch ‘kings’ weep with Tephra ICA’s new art exhibit in Reston

Reston’s Tephra Institute of Contemporary Art (Tephra ICA) will feature a large-scale video installation in its latest exhibition.

“Three Kings Weep,” an exhibit by Jamaican-born artist Ebony Patterson, will be on view from Sept. 21 through Dec. 14 at Tephra’s Reston Town Center gallery (12001 Market Street, Suite 103).

Native American Festival makes Fairfax County return this week

The Virginia Native American Festival is set to return to Riverbend Park (8700 Potomac Hills Street) in Great Falls for its 24th year.

Scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 14 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the annual celebration of Native American cultures and traditions has been a staple in the county since 1997. However, it was put on hold for a couple of years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
